Anyone have a Lennox Bella?

I was given a $4000 gift certificate to a woodstove store near my house. Problem is, the stove I most like and want it the Harmon Accentra in the brown majolica, and this dealer does not carry Harmon. They carry Avalon, Piazzetta, Regency and Lenox.

I have a very modern, 850sq ft house in central Massachusetts, currently heating with a propane forced air system from the ceiling that is meant for a house in Florida, not New England. The Propane is expensive.

So, I want a stove that will most efficiently and cleanly heat the house, but I want a modern look.

From what I can tell, I most like the Piazzetta P955, but it is $5000 just for the stove. Ouch.

The other one is more affordable that has a design I like it the Lennox Bella but the one review I saw said it breaks a lot and sucks. I like the aesthetic of this stove in the brown glazed model, but I do not want to place form over function and have a useless stove that gives me a headache to maintain.

Can anyone tell me about the Bella?

Any other thoughts in the four manufacturers listed above are most welcome, but I am avoiding any old timey looking stoves and the Avalon models are just hideous to me and would not look good in my little house.

If I have to I will save to get the Piazzetta, but I want to know if it is worth it.

As a lennox owner, I probably wouldn't buy another one. It's not bad, but it's a PITA some times and frankly not popular. My dealer has proved worthless time and time again, and i've escilated an issue to lennox them selves, and they too no longer even bother to reply to me. So, I would never recommend them for anything to anyone ever again based solely on their lack of customer service.

I've never heard of Piazzetta. 5k + 500 for piping and install is super pricey too... probably why i've never heard of them... no one can afford them!

I'd say the Avalon is a good run, but you don't like the looks.

Regency is used by a few people around here... i hav eno experience with them.

Thanks for the info. That is the second person who has a Lennox and is not happy with it. I would rather scrimp and save for the nice Italian stove than get one that I regret.

I was hoping someone would tell me a love story of the Bella, but I am thinking that will not happen.

I am so bummed that I cannot get the Harmon Accentra. Hard to complain about a generous gift, but it is a drag to not get what I know would be perfect.
 
Is there another dealer near by that does sell it? It's possible you may be able to sell your $4000 gift card for something like $3900 on craigslist or something to get the cash out of it and use it at another dealer.

Yeah, this is something I am considering. There is a store that sells it. I was also considering asking the store it is for if they would be willing to offer a deal to someone shopping their store where I sell them the gift certificate at $100 off. Might be worth asking, but they said it is the slow time of year.
 
What about an Avalon AGP. They look interesting and as advertised will burn anything, and I think you can color customize the stove side colors. I personally have a Lennox Winslow and am satisfied, throws good heat and is easily maintained:rolleyes:
 
Regency is the same line as Enviro. The Regency G60 is the same stove as the Enviro M-55 and/or Vista Flame VF-55.

Also, the Avalon (Travis industries makes Lopi, Avalon, etc) AGP as noted above. Supposed to be the latest and greatest.

There are 2 members that just installed Piazzetta. Both seem to LOVE them.

No real dealings with Lennox. Other than Lennox buying out Whitefield.

Any other specific models you looked at (out of there line up)?
 
Have heard good things about the Piazzetta. Expensive but good value.

In a former life I sold Lennox pellet stoves. Never again! In one season, they warranty replaced 4 units. They were not reliable and a pain to work on. However, their warranty support was top-notch. I don't know how things have changed, if at all, since Lennox sold the hearth division to private equity.
 
I have a Lennox Bella and have had no problems with it. I haven't had to go back to the dealer where I bought it, so I don't know how the service is.
 
Wow- lots of Winslows out in service guys, a nice stove espec when Country owned them. When Lennox bought them, their prices went outa sight. Still is considered a very good heater, nice stove to work on except insert exh conn. The price is the only downtick I have with it.

Nothing wrong with Lennox...need a good dealer for gaskets and maintenance parts..thats it. Mine was used but i love its simplicity. Has been a good stove.
 
Here is my experience so far with a Lennox Bella. We bought the first one in Autumn 2012. They delivered a used floor model instead of a new one. Was not happy about that. Early January the thing was sporadically shutting down during burn phases. Getting "no fire error" messages frequently. Dealer came out and agreed stove was not running right. They replaced a few things. Less than 2 weeks later it was doing it again. It continued to be a problem the entire winter with us trying to get it fixed and dealer communicating with Lennox and Lennox saying it is something I'm doing wrong...bad pellets, not setting burn pot securely...all hogwash!! By end of that winter (2012-2013) same parts were being replaced a second time. Thing ran OK, but it was only a matter of a few weeks and didn't need to be using it. Winter was over. Come winter 2013-2014 same thing is happening. Again the techs were out constantly, acknowledging stove is not behaving correctly and is not due to anything I've done wrong. In May 2014, dealer out of his own pocket, because they're getting nowhere with Lennox, replaced the stove with a new Bella. Winter almost over, didn't have to run it much, but when I did, it ran fine. Come winter 2014-2015. The new Bella is doing same thing as the previous one!!! And the igniter went out on it twice!! So, replace igniter, replace this, replace that, replaced the mother board, replaced the ignitor again, all out or our own pocket this time. Finally got through winter, with all the same headaches as the previous two winters. Now, I'm one week into having to use the Bella for winter 2015-2016 and guess what? Yes, already getting sporadic premature shutdowns and etc. SO, no I am not happy with Lennox Bella stove and do not recommend it for anything. It (both of the Bellas actually) have been a headache from day one.
