My Princess (circa 2010) shipped with the side panels un-installed. I never installed them but want to try it now. I can't quite figure out how they're supposed to install.

The stove body has two tabs (on each side), near the upper and lower front corners ..

It looks like a slot on the panel just slips over the lower tab . The upper tab is split (two tabs right together) and with a bolt hole; there's a slot on the panel that could fit between the two tabs or over both, and I don't see any way to insert a bolt, so not sure what should be done here. Finally, looks like the rear edge of the cover fit behind the rear edge of the stove; there are bolt holes there too, but I see no way to thread a nut on, so I guess you just use sheet-metal screws.

Is this stove way older? There is a picture of a side panel installed

Wow, I impressed both that some idiot let this happen to the stove and at the restoration job the guy did.

It's similar to mine, except the side panel has a horizontal "kink" towards the bottom (to match the one in the side of the stove) whereas mine does not. Anyhow, I think I've got it figured out.

Bk used sheet metal screws on the back. Kind of pinched up front on top. Here’s mine from 2012.

Yeah, that looks about right. Except, the one on the side of the stove with the thermostat knob and bypass lever doesn't seem to fit. The distance between the two respective holes in the panel is about 9-1/16", but the distance between the two control shafts (thermostat and bypass) is about 9-5/8". Doesn't seem like all that much, but I'd have to bend the shaft for the thermostat knob an amount that definitely seems wrong, in order to get the panel to fit. It's very odd. I'm just going to enlarge the hole for the bypass lever.

Actually, that doesn't work, that hole is in exactly the right place, and centering the bypass lever in a bigger hole would align the panel incorrectly. So I amputated the little thing with the setting gauge that sticks out the back, and reconnected with a little piece of steel and some epoxy. Get a new decal and Bob's your uncle.

Still can't understand why the panel was off. It'd have to be for a stove that has the exact same shape as the Princess but is slightly smaller. And the dealer would've had to ship the wrong parts, and they were shipped with the stove but un-installed. Makes no sense. My bad for waiting 15 years to install 'em ;)

My stove came assembled.

They kindly offered to paint mine any color, for free, which I took them up on. I guess they removed 'em to do that, and did not re-assemble.

Ah ok that’s different but nice. What color did you go with?

Could choose from the Stove Bright pallet and picked "metallic blue", though it's really kinda a dual grey-blue.

Replacing door/window gaskets I painted the door black. Looks kinda sharp against the blue. Maybe I'll paint the panels black ...
