I decided to put a St Croix SCF 050 in my house.

Turned it on today and it went thru the usual start up and then the feed auger started running non stop and wouldn't cycle. Filled the fire pot to the top in no time.

The light on the control board that shows when the auger is feeding flashes on and off but the auger motor never slows down. This is immediately after the proof of flame snap disk closes.

Recently I couldn't get the auger to prime by using the auger feed button and now it seems to have a mind of it's own.

Anyone have any thought s on this.

Problem solved, I raided the piggy bank and replaced the Control Board today, everything is working better than ever.

I was going to suggest that...really I was...!

Probably a shorted triac, an INexpensive item to replace. Fix it, and you'll have a spare board.

Edit to correct wording.

I had considered repairing the board, Don't know if this is a common failure on this model or not.
Also was considering putting a heat shield behind the circuit board as it sits approx 3 inches from the exhaust pipe !!

Thanks for the reply's, Seems like it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a spare board on the shelf.
