Inherited a Baby Bear when my renter moved out of our cabin several years ago. It had been in there since fall /winter of 1982. It’s an Arch top door model. We replaced it with our old VC Resolute Acclaim when we up graded to a Hearthstone Manchester at our house about 8 years ago. I stored the Baby Bear in my shed for these past years , and now my son wants it for his basement, so I’m passing it along. I discovered on pulling it out that the door latch striker plate that’s welded to the side of the stove has somehow broken off. He found a guy to weld it back on but the guy wants measurements of where the striker goes and it’s orientation, since he will have to grind off what little is left of the weld on the stove wall. Also it’s important to get this right so the door seals properly. It’s a left swing door so hinges on the right side. Any help with this problem?
