I am beyond intrigued. I am fascinated. I am almost fixated. The possibilities!

Does anyone out there know anything about this product? Has anyone tried it or anything like it?

We have an old school Coleman oven that we've used on top of a Coleman stove. I plan to try the Coleman oven on top of the Princess and we'll see how that does for baking biscuits, etc.

BUT THEN I FOUND THIS AND MY HEAD EXPLODED.

What think you, Wise Ones?

I like it! But, $539? Damn that is expensive.
I can cook beef stew on top of my wood stove, or cook corn pancakes as is where is. Hard to justify that much money.

Yeah, it's $$$. We'll give the Coleman camp oven a try this weekend. :) :) On the other hand- if it works... it's an OVEN. So there's that. But I agree, it's a bit pricey.

It might work for awhile until it plugs up with creosote.

Any and all attempts to make my own bread end in futility after about 2-3 weeks. GD I love bread I don't make so much more lol.

well.... any attempt to collect and utilize heat in the stove pipe is kind of a no no with EPA stoves as they are so well designed to use up the heat in the stove that what goes up should go up and be used to keep the chimney warm preventing creo. Something like that is just a really expensive heat exchanger thing that will certainly provide a great deal of upper chimney trouble down the road.

Besides, for that kind of coin you could buy a small generator and power a bread maker if that was the goal during power outages and such. I would stick to trying a stove top model or just use a propane or nat gas oven to bake during those times when the power goes out and I need a loaf of fresh bread.

I do have and use a Sun Oven as well so that's an option. We can't find the Coleman camp stove we used to have; Hubs thinks I gave it away in a camping equipment re-org and purge when we bought our little trailer. I don't remember giving it away but I could see why I would; our little trailer has a little oven in it.

The BKVP answered this question on the other thread as well, and said pretty much what you said, BobUrban.

I'll look into another Coleman camp stove oven after I measure the space available on the Princess stove top to make sure we have room for it.

Thanks! :)

Try a Dutch oven on top of the stove. I have not tried it yet but have been thinking of it.

I'll try to make an oven out of the excess soapstone I have after the hearth is done. Come to think of it though, I may need to install a crane on the ceiling to move it on top of the stove.
