Fired up the King Parlor at 6pm with solid walnut rounds at least 3 to 4 years dry,put the setting at about 5'o Clock on the tstat and enjoyed this burn for 3 hours ,kicked it down to about 3 added a couple pieces of red oak and went to bed up at 4am the house was at 72. That walnut sure burns a sweet fire.

Nice! I've got a ton of walnut around here...looking forward to it next year. The stuff I got recently is already at 17% freshly split.
 
It's great burning when seasoned. I like to split away the edges and leave the heart wood. It does leave a lot of ash,but no big deal to me.
 
That's really nice. I get a fair amount of Walnut here in Eastern PA., really unique smell and look to it.
