Hello all. I've been lurking for a little while but just joined. I'm working on an encore 2550. I read all of jharkins thread and that was very helpful. I ordered the fireback kit from woodmans, shipping was 77$, but then I got an email several days later telling me that they didn't charge enough shipping and it would be another $200 in shipping so $277 just for shipping. This seems a bit ridiculous to me. Is there another place I can look for the kit that may not be as horrible for shipping? Thanks in advance and for all the info so far.

Ouch. That seems a bit extreme. Google brings up several sellers for Vermont Castings Parts. Give Stove Parts Unlimited a call and also check with your local VC dealer.
