Have not tried these before but all reviews seems really good. For the last two years I've bought just mediocre pellets to get by, looking to get something better this year
Found a local place selling them 3.4ton for $999 with a $59 delivery. Breaks down to $293/ton or $311/ton delivery included.. Thoughts??

I just did the same deal, they were delivered today...i got the 1 ton of blazers to try along with 2.4 tons of the LeCrete's...everyone says I'll be happy as I too spent last year burning the mediocre brands

I just got 3 tons of blazer delivered for 299 and 57 flat rate for delivery. Purchased in june and they delivered in august. Came out to 318 per ton delivered. I never tried then before and it's my second year burning. After reading all the positive reviews I couldn't pass up that price for a df pellet. Based on big box store prices for chit pellets this year I made the right move. The pallets delivered were tripple wrapped with a hood and sat in the rain for three days (it was raining hard) before I could unload. I threw tarp over the top and not one bag was wet. You will be fine just check the wrap when it comes. I got mine from pellets r us in acton where are you getting yours.

Pellet direct in uxbridge. Best price I've been able to fine for DF pellets.
Definately do it. In my area the next closest price is 339 all the way up to 359. Glad I did the prebuy I almost used pellets direct but with delivery it would have cost more. I found my pellets on a craigslist ad from pellets r us in acton their main website had them posted in june at 339 and they ran a separate low key ad on Craigslist for 299 per ton and I called then directly and referenced the ad. I was researching hard core from April to June and cashed in. The next day the took the craigslist ad down.

I actually looked at the add more closely it is actually what BobMA got. 3.4 tone total. 1 ton of blazers with 2.4 ton of Lacrete.
I burnt la crete last year and they were great ash was not terrible either. It was the light fluffy ash. Looking forward to the Blazers I am told ash is very minimal. Last year my first year I bought a ton of green supreme and had to clean my stove every three days, never agin. I would rather pay 30 to 40 dollars more per ton for better heat and less ash.

I was the same.. Had 3 ton of Greene supreme for the NY plant.. Poor heat. Massive amounts of ash. Emptying pan every 3 days and doing a full clean once a week.

Agreed..
Home depot has upped the price of thier "Mountains of Ash" pellet brands to 269.00 ton here outside Phila.
many have no problem paying 30.00 bucks or so more for ton of better stuff..
HD came out early this year with pellets and price increase which has given many some time to look for better stuff as opposed to
last year when they came out late in the year, the word " shortage" was out and everyone jumped to HD and bought them out every truckload that came in.
thank you Home Depot for giving many of us time to shop around this season by showing your cards early this year.

Well said. I can't believe some of the brands they are Selling for 279 in mass. Green supreme especially. If they got awf white pine for that price it's justifyable, those had great heat last year for me however the fines were a but to much. Lowe's was selling green team for 279 I guess folks likes them, however I burnt 10 bags last year and wasnt impressed. I was down the Cape this weekend and agway had pellets for 7.99 per bag or 400 per ton!!!after inquiring further i found out they were blackstone hardwood rebagged, those pellets aren't worth half that imho. Thats 40 dollars more per ton than the most expensive pellet on the market okie firs!

HD here started with stove chows. they now have Nations choice.... good lordy......but I assume many will buy whatever they are selling just for the convenience. too bad.
I did buy 30 bags of Blazers there last January at 249.00 ton.. that was a surprise score..
kept going down to the basement for a few nights just to make sure I wasn't dreaming..lol
same with Presto logs when they came in..

Good to heat about the Blazers tony I am sitting on three ton and never tried them. I had to pull the trigger at 299 per ton and from what people have been telling me I shouldn't be dissapointed

U will be very happy with them I'm sitting on 8 tons at $220 ton from last year

220? What state was that? I would have bought a trailer load at that price. Great score!!!

Heck, they were $60 cheaper a ton last year at their regular price in NH than what you paid this year for your "pre-buy" special. Transportation costs didn't go up that much from last year to this year.

But even you have to admit, that was a fluke buy...
That is not Home Depot's "regular" brand.. So it isn't their "regular" price..;)

I don't think we will see any pellet for that much not even pennington from walmart which I would never burn is more than 220. At least not in mass unless someone make some mistake I would have kept all of those because the money that you made off those tons you're going to end up spending on the back end at some point Blazers up my way are between 339 and 360. Was lucky to score a 299 during pre buy this year

Certainly not this year based on their other pellet prices. Just saw an ad for a "pellet sale" on NEWP's at Pellets R US. It's almost like an oil cartel where prices everywhere are pretty close to each other. I figure last year they didn't lose any money on their Blazer sales so I'm curious why they are so much more expensive this year, especially for a big box store. It's certainly not a shortage of pellets around (yet) and it seems the prices on the west coast for douglas firs are similar to last year's prices. Can't figure it. Waiting to see if AWF Ultras will make an appearance at HD's like they did last year. Also interesting, equine bedding pellets are exactly the same price this year as they were last year and they get transported the same as regular pellets and come from the same pellet mills as the ones burned in our stoves.

Supply and demand. Last year demand was high so this year we all pay for it. Completely ignoring the fact Oil is insanely low. Result will be they will be eating the piles and blowing them out after the season ends. Then next yr prices will be lower. 1 yr delayed reaction.
Local places change their prices on the fly. so they were able to increase prices earlier on the fly. Higher last yr and still high this yr. Probably drop once they come to terms with oil being a competitor.
