I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on two tons of North American Pellets which claim to be a 'blend'. The clerk at the local TSC said they were 80/20, but the bag says only "hardwood and/or softwood". Just wondering how these stack up to my other options like Stove Chow or Lignetics.

Dan, I was unimpressed with the Chows last year, which is why I didn't list them as an option. I'm not going with Cheat River (awful) and the Supreme Platinums are out of my budget at $350/ton, so that leaves me with only Lignetics at $270/ton or the North American Pellets (80/20 blend) from TSC at $265/ton. I'm looking for feedback both qualitative and quantitative (if possible) on an alternative.

I misunderstood..... I thought you said, "Just wondering how these stack up to my other options like Stove Chow or Lignetics."
I took that to mean Chows were an option...

A lot of people do like the Chows, from what I read here, and other reviews.

I've never used them personally, just going by what I see in other places...
I did get three bags to test, to add to my own data... so I will know later in the season..

I have the Lignetics and am very happy with them. I am also very happy with Cheat River as well. My TSC stores up here also have Pure Fire 100% softwood pellets and those are nice too.

I would go for the Lignetics over North American. I would also burn chows before North Amer. but that my stove. If you can get it by the bag buy a few of each and try them

Go with the Chows.... (imo)

bought 3 tons of north American from Lowes at the end of last year....JUNK! I'm mixing my 2nd ton with green supreme till the real cold weather comes.
I would have sent them back ( Lowes quoted me all hardwood pellets) but they were the only pellets I could find.
