Does anyone have experience using this product to repair cracks in your wood stove?

My Harman TL300 is developing a crack in the metal at the top loading area.
I am wonder if this will be a good solution to fill the crack.
Right now the crack gets covered by the gasket in the top loading door.

I tried using JB Weld but since it can only handle up to 500::F, it was not a good solution.
According to the product it can handle up to 2,400::F

That might be able to handle the heat but I doubt it would prevent the crack from getting worse in the future. Is that part steel or cast? If it's steel a stress relief hole should be drilled at the end of the crack, grind out the crack and weld it. I just dont see that stuff being a good long term solution.
