Yes I am the bonehead. I was watching a movie and remembered that that stove needed more wood. So I ran down stairs and loaded the stove full with the damper wide open and went back to the movie. By the time I remembered to go back down stairs and close the air, the thermometer that is on the stove pipe was reading like 800 degrees and the top of the stove was glowing. I shut the air right off and eventually the stove went back down to safe operating temperatures. So my question is what did I just do to my regency stove? Obviously I got it to hot. Should I be concerned about anything now that this has happened?
! I keep seeing this over and over on this forum. Everyone does not necessarily do it once. At least in over 50 years we have yet to do it and plan on keeping it that way.
