Boo Nu Stacking Area

On Monday I removed the stump the old fashion way, use the chips from the chipped up pine to level it off then stacked .62 of a cord of pine,hemlock & quaking aspen.

At the moment we are ahead two years plus on our shoulder season wood, looking to be three plus years by the time the snow hits the ground.

Once I get all the shoulder season wood that is bucked up & split stacked I'll start cutting again during the week.

Good deal, Zap!
I've got a good bit of Cherry that I can use for shorter burns, but I need more starter wood. Still have some Red Pine left and I've got a bit of Red Maple, but not enough. There are a few dead Tulip Poplar out there...maybe I'll try some of that.

Nice job on the firewood tfdchief, always nice looking out the window seeing money in the bank when looking at those stacks.

Scotty Overkill, that mattock worked great. On the big saw, I just need to start it an get used to everything before I use it. Looks like a chitty day for Wednesday so I'll sharpen some milling chains then some day this week I'll kick start the beast.

Woody Stover, we burned almost two cord of quaking aspen last year in the shoulder season, worked out great. I was talking with my neighbor (won't burn white pine) but told me they use to burn hemlock, I did ask if he wanted some but he declined the offer.

I'm with ya too, chief. I've probably got around 3 1/2 to 4 years ready to go, working on the next year now! I may sell a few cord this summer, especially the silver maple. I have a PILE of that laying up at my FIL's place.

I did about three cups of coffee back at the house, while I was hacking away at the stump about two waters.

Good job on that stump, Zap. Gotta be hard work using that old fashion method. My neighbor would have been 92, told of how when they were young they used a different old fashioned method for stumps. They went to the local hardware store for a couple sticks of dynamite, stuffed 'em under the stump, lit the fuse and ran like crazy. Popped the stumps right out! He said that once they stuck a few too many sticks under the thing and there was nothing left but splinters.

Sav, yesterday we hit 90 on the Radio Shack special(I thought it was hot enough I would not stack our work in the woods) so today I did what I was gonna do on Saturday(97.5 on the Radio Shack special today when I came in. )

Finished the second row of Hemlock,Pine and Quaking Aspen, decided I would split then stack some pine in the third row, the pine stacked in picture was cut & split during the winter from dead standing.
