Roll back the clock to 1981.
Here's a new, unfired Grandma III in San Jose Calif.
(broken link removed to http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fisher-Grandma-Bear-Fireplace-Stove-/182060339679?)

This is a mass produced box from Hesston by the H in serial number.
The chorme Contemporary screen was standard issue in '81 but there were many fabricators making screens, so this one is a little different than the standard that had locking rotating handles and rectangular stamped chrome frame. Notice it is angled and painted. Not sure about the painted bricks, that's strange too, but I've often said when any strange variances are found it's in CA ! I'd like to see a collector get this one to remain unfired. Of course if it was a plated door I'd be all over it. You could always have it plated, I'll attach a pic of a brand new brass plated GM at the bottom. It could look just like that one. Not many left !
