Hello folks. I have an older P23i that I purchased 6 years ago used. It is an older model that originally had the old analog control board and an igniter rod in the burn pot. It ran fine for years. When things started to crap out I replaced them. The analog board went so I upgraded it with the digital circuit board. The auger was replaced as well as the auger motor. I noticed right away that the auger motor seemed to feed the fuel a bit faster and caused the low setting to really roar with a large fire. My stove seems to have no low setting anymore. On setting #1 its a 10" fire. My question is do you guys think its the burn pot? I called breckwell and made sure the motor I bought was the correct one. I have the old style pot without the removable little insert. That new pot looks like the burn area is MUCH smaller than my old style. It seems like I am not getting enough air flow and the fuel is being fed faster than it can burn. I cleaned the stove and the exhaust flue but I still have a lazy flame. I'm going to thoroughly clean the stove soon but I do not want to spend $200 on a new burn pot. That is expensive. Is there any improvement I can make by drilling the holes a tad bigger to increase air flow?

From what I read on the Mountain View web site regarding upgrading control boards from analog to digital for the P23 there are two possible digital boards that can be used. I'm wondering if you got the correct one.
This is what they say:
Please double check the settings on your old control board. P23's used two different style boards. If you have Low, B,C,D,E, Max you need an A-E-950kit.

I guess the other analog board just had low/med/high settings and the digital upgrade needs a A-E-057KIT.

I would check and make sure all the holes in your burn pot are clear and open. I burn my 24i with the damper only out about 3/8".

Hello

The older units had a 4 RPM auger motor while the new units have a 1 RPM motor. The control panel and auger are also very different for the 1 or 4 RPM motors!

Thanks for the replies guys. I made sure I bought the proper circuit board and 4Rpm motor but I did not realize the auger is different. Maybe I purchased the wrong auger. Hmmm. I'll check into that
