last year and this year I have experience an issue when switching speeds of feed and fan knob where the unit will continually feed pellets without stopping....I have to switch back and forth on the speed rate til it stops. what will cause this?
OK ppl I changed my air switch.that did nothing to fix the auger doing a constant feed unless i play back n fourth with the speed knob till it works right....anyone have a solid idea on this?
If so the switch is dirty or the contacts are not positioning the same as they were when new or they are worn and not making proper contact to reliably pass current.
If those knobs are connected to pots (variable resistors) then the wiper is dirty or no longer making proper contact with the material that provides the resistance.
Sometimes contact cleaner will take care of the problem. If that doesn't work then what the knobs are connected to needs replacement.

Its just 1 knob you turn to select A B C D E F speed...D is normal startup mode. after the fire is going I switch it to C for a comfortable temp and speed but once you switch it to C it will feed pellets and not stop unless you go back and forth till it finally works right..ie run for say 3 seconds stop for 10 secs. repeat.
A rotary switch is prone to contact oxidation, dirt build up, and contact loosening.
Get a can of electrical contact cleaner from a place like grainger or handy dandy tandy (radio shack).
It was also known as tuner cleaner in prior eons. A spray of that and a working of the swtich trough all positions several times and then let it dry just might do the job otherwise install a new switch. .
