I just got a new Hearthstone Crafstbury. The manufacturer says it is a 40,000 Btu stove, but the
EPA label that was attached to the handle says 10,973 to 25,563.
What gives?

EPA rating is by EPA's standard, meaning they use certain wood, a certain amount, for a certain time I beleive. The manufacturers rating is when using dry hardwood cordwood. Oak etc. I think they been saying figure 50% of the manufacturers rating for a more realistic number.
