We are considering buying a used Jotul 370 gas stove. It looks to be in good shape and was uninstalled by the owner ( we are told they have "building experience.") Is it a bad idea to buy a gas stove uninstalled by an owner and not a professional? We are trying to weigh the risks of this.

Wherever we're parked
Uninstalled, means the gas & venting were disconnected. Not a lot of damage can be done during that process but I'd
take a look at the flue collar & make sure it still looks good. Check the gas valve where the connection was opened.
Make sure the threads in the valve are not compromised.
