I am thinking about adding a wifi-controlled thermostat to my house HVAC system. I have a 10-year-old Heat & Glo fireplace upstairs that puts out some decent heat. It uses a radio-controlled digital Smart-Stat-II thermostat. It would be great if this fireplace could turn on before we get up in the mornings to help warm the living room and kitchen.

If I install a new thermostat (I'm thinking Honeywell), could it integrate the fireplace as well?

You will have to confirm that with your owner's manual.
We don't know what model you have, so we don't know
what manual to look up.
