Can anyone help identify this stove

Hi, when I moved into my new 121 year old house a few years ago this stove was in our barn. Being woodstove people we got very excited and had dreams of restoring it. Well, as one might expect in a 121 year old (fairly neglected) home, other projects have taken priority. However, in thinking about taking on this project soon I realized I really don't know anything about this stove!
It has some strange features. No name or brand anywhere I can see. It has broken parts. The firebox seems strangely shaped. I don't understand how the air control was supposed to work. Many many questions. But first and foremost, can anyone help identify it and maybe come up with an approximate age?

that is a knock off of a vermont castings defiant. from what i see you won't be able to restore that stove because of a few things. the insides are shot there is what looks like sheet metal in the to block a secondary chamber. the handle that controls the damper above the side door looks so badly rusted that it might not come out. so from what i see from your pictures you won't find parts but you could have a welding shop make them if they were to take on the job and that would be so costly that you would be better to buy a new stove. sorry for the bad news. other people here will probably say the same.

I agree, I don't think it is worth fixing. IF it were a real Vermont Castings 1975 Defiant it might be worth rebuilding. Your stove will make more sense if you look up the stove I just mentioned.

Ok, thanks for the help. It's not a huge disappointment, we run a lopi 380? (Predecessor to the endeavor) as our main stove, in the other end of the house we have an avalon insert and I have another small avalon out in the workshop. This stove, even if fixed up, I wasn't sure where I'd put it lol. Oh well, thank you for the assistance.

Out of curiosity, are you saying that the firebox has been modified for some reason?
