So I'm installing my chimney and I have a 12" double-wall insulated pipe that goes through my terracotta crock to the outside. There is only going to be 1/4" gap between the crock and the chimney pipe and I need to insulate that somehow to keep cold air from coming in between the pipe and the crock.

So my question is, can I just use regular silicone caulk or do I need the hi-temp stuff?

Alright thanks, I figured as much as I don't think the double wall gets very hot but just wanted to be safe.
