Thanks for the heads up. That was not even a thought. I will call tomorrow.Congrats!
It's a fun time getting to experiment with a new stove. Let us know how you are making out or if you need anything.
Also, don't forget to call the insurance company to let them know you made a change and have everything up to snuff with the installation. Sometimes they'll just say "thanks for the call, we'll make a note" other times they may ask for a pic and some measurements/a copy of the installation guide in the manual, other times they may ask to send someone out to view for themselves. Just a heads up as it's easy to forget (like I did for a while).
Great stove, nothing like wishing for things to get cold!

Wait till you see how much that stove is gonna save you ........you'll never own another home without one.....example: 1700 sq ft Split Level Ranch here......from November to March.....52 gallons of Fuel Oil...and that includes Hot Water .....waiting on the next deliveryThey also mentioned a $30 annual increase. No big deal to me. Hopefully the stove mor than makes up for that in oil savings!! LOL
Yes! I had the wife call our insurance company and all they require is a picture and written details of the install. They do not require any invoices or inspections. They also mentioned a $30 annual increase. No big deal to me. Hopefully the stove mor than makes up for that in oil savings!! LOL
congrats on your new wood heater, its gonna be so much fun running her and feeling the wood heat coming your way. I hope after, I have said that, that your wood supply is up to par. Dried and and ready to burn.
good luck!
Thanks for the the well wishesExcellent. Lopi sure gets good ratings around here. Nice that your insurance folks are not giving you any hassle.
I wonder if the insurance folks in general are more willing to keep the noise to a minimum when someone is converting a fireplace (hearth) over to a wood stove, as opposed to a net-new wood stove install?
Good luck with the stove. Enjoy....

It takes time. I started burning again last year and just went with what I knew from the past then I started learning from these great guys and gals here. This year should be a lot better than last year and next year should be great for me. To think I used to get oak in the summer and fall and then burn it in the winter or try to at least. Now I know better. This year is not going to save me anything. Between the stove and the load of wet wood I just got its going to be rough. I have to scrape and scrounge to get seasoned wood. I am going to try to find some kiln dried so there goes even more savings.
Thanks, its a little smaller than I expected. I am also having a hell of a time getting seasoned wood. I bought three cords and its a wet. The jerk swore up and down its a year old. It was a year old in log form . I ended up keeping it anyway. I will need it next year. Now I have to go hunting for whatever I can get. My AC is cranked also. I am on Long Island. It's muggy here to.Funny, because you said you can't wait for the cold. I feel the exact same way! Sad thing is, I've got my dammed air conditioner cranked up as I type this! Muggy and sticky as all get-out here in central PA. I'm definitely ready for the cooler fall weather!!
Great looking Lopi! Looking forward to seeing it lit up!
Yes theses guys are helpfully. I am going to have to bite the bullet this year and spend some extra, oh wellIt takes time. You're in the same boat that many MANY of us have been in, one time or another. Get out there and get some dead, dry stuff. maybe look for some good dry pallet wood to supplement your other stuff. I hope you can find some good dry wood. Are you anywhere near member LeesWoodCo? He's somewhere out your way, and hes a wood dealer you could trust.....Thanks, its a little smaller than I expected. Always looks like an excuse to raise rates. I have State Farm(Discount Double Check). I was already insured with a masonry fireplace, installing an insert made no difference. They didn't even ask what kind, how old, or who installed it. They don't care that my dog is a rottweiler either. I am also getting ready. Changed out all my gaskets, moved a cord into the garage. I hate moving the dry wood into the garage. All my wood is stacked along 75 ft of fence. I am going to eventually use the fence as the back side of a wood shed, build a coverYes! Exactly what I did last year , the dead wood and pallet wood ,saved my butt, and it was all free. Get out there and get some dead, dry stuff. maybe look for some good dry pallet wood to supplement your other stuff.
