No furnace.
Dryer was on 7 hours ago, electric.
Water heater is electric.

Carbon monixide detector went off in our main level floor around 10:30PM. Opened the windows, then half an hour later, our basement CO detector went off. Wood stove was fired around 7 am.

Ideas?

We're outside now.

What is the outside temp?

Shovel out the coals from the stove into a metal container and place it outside on bricks or a non-combustible surface. Figure out what went wrong tomorrow. First thing to check will be to see if the flue system is plugging, starting with the cap.

What is the outside temp?
Seems as though they are experiencing the same weather as us, temps in the mid 40's, 30's at night.

It's that time of year.

Weather warms up, draft gets weaker, and marginal draft and/or tight houses cause reverse draft at the end of the burn. In this case, the dryer gave it an extra push.

Details about the install are needed, but chances are very high that you need an outside air kit.

Also possible that the flue is plugged, but you'd have had smoke in the house at the start of the burn then.

Tomorrow, give us all the details about the flue system with pictures.
