Uh oh. [Hearth.com] Carl strikes again!

How can anyone think that is acceptable? these people getting these installs and signing off on the work make me wonder....

If that was installed on my house, that guy wouldn't have left the yard until it was fixed.

sheesh. not even a spark bucket.

What did you do to fix it?

That stove has a 4" flue vent flange on the back of the stove. How was it connected to the 3" pellet vent?

Did you just clean the stove?

Yes I cleaned the stove and then failed it on the sheet for many obvious reasons. I raked up the leaves and such in the event that they don't take my advice and continue to use the thing as is.

Okay, mine looks similar, and I have trees everywhere around my place. What does one do? I try to keep the leaves away and there is shale under it.

Vertical rise...

the manual does call for a 4" vent, so there is that, and the manual also calls for a 2' clearance to grass and whatnot...without a measurement, it's a tough call looking at the pic. I'm not sure I'd blame an installer for the leaves in someones yard though...unless he has a bag of leaves with him and spreads them about after the install...then, clearly "his bad"...and there ARE some wacky peepes out there, so I would not be surprised.
