I just noticed this today when cleaning out the pot. It looks like a rivet or something was welded on there before.

Should I be concerned?

This is the third season.

That's the vacuum port, it goes to a vacuum switch

I dont think so. All of my serenitys have it. Never thought to look on the backside to see where it goes, but they all have it.
