Anything special i should do to my saw for long term storage? Sta-bil and run it for a bit? Leave the gas in? Dump it out? Anything special to do to the chain?

If your using regular gas with 10% ethanol, dump it out and run it until it's empty. Ethanol is the bane of our exsistance as far as gasoline powered engines are concerned. Using what's called rec90 or good old non-ethanol gasoline is best and a little sta-bil or seafoam will keep it from gumming up.

Common question. I dump out the regular pump gas then fill with a canned fuel like Motomix, Trufuel, or similar fuel and run the saw to get the fuel through the carb. Canned fuel has no ethanol and should be good for up to a year in storage.
I've never heard of canned fuel. Don't get off the farm much. What is it used for primarily?

Canned fuel is ethanol free gasoline in a quart (usually) container. Most outdoor power equipment OPE stores plus big box stores carry it. Check for the oil ratio that you want-if any as it can be bought straight with no oil. About $6-$8 per can, shelf life up to 2 years.

Who knows for sure? Just went out yesterday to start my old snowmobile, might not have run it for the last five years, but the same gas and oil was in it the whole period, Sta-bil in the gas, and it started right up and ran fine. I use Sta-bil in all gas for the small engines, never empty the gas or run the carbs dry, except I do run the carb dry in the generator for emergency electric backup for the house.
When I remember ... Startron in the gas tanks.
Confession time ... I am pretty good at adding the fuel additive in the mower and sled. Sometimes, oftentimes, I forget to add it to the saw ... so far, no issues. I figure worse case scenario saw is destroyed and I'll have to convince my wife I need a new one.

I add StarTron to the 2 cycle can as soon as I get new gas. I only mix 1 gallon at a time but I put it right in, and I add some to the HD and mower also. I like where your head is at though, Jake

We have a local racing fuel dealer that sells non-oxygenated fuel by the gallon that is more economical than small specialty cans from the power equipment dealers.
Depending on which fuel mixture is purchased, the shelf life is 2 or 3 years without treatment. Good stuff.

Ah, that's right . . . forgot about that . . . and that's probably why I have never had any issues with the ol' 350 . . . I almost always use Husqvarna 2-stroke oil in the mix. Thanks for the reminder.

When I fill my gas cans I always add Star Tron. I always run my saw dry if it is going to sit for any length of time. I also use Husky 2 stroke oil so I get an extra dose. I try not to keep gas around and store it in sealed containers.
Gotta get me some of that stabilizer, no corn gas and additives someday. After over twenty five years of running on Walmart two stroke oil and 87 octane pump gas these saws are gonna lock up any minute now.

I mostly use MotoMix, Truefuel or non-ethanol gas with sta-bil or seafoam, or run it dry if I have no other option.
I also sharpen and oil the chain and grease the clutch drum bearings and bar nose.
