If I run it without the chain on, oil comes out of the 'port' just fine. I put the chain back on and run it to check for oil spray and nothing. Take the chain cover back off and it's all oily under the cover. New chain, new bar (oil hole not clogged).. as in never been used before new.. It wasn't oiling with the old chain/bar so I pulled out my new spares. Also the oil isn't coming from 'under' the pump, the little rubber seals are fine. It's coming out of the 'port' but somehow the chain isn't picking it up.

I'm pulling up on the bar when I tighten the chain cover.

Only thing I can think:
- The new chain is a Oregon 72LPX072G and the bar is the Rollmatic E 3003 008 8921. When I put the chain on the bar (not attached to chainsaw) and look into the oil port on the bar, the link only goes about half way down.. Is that normal or is this a wrong chain? See pic cs..

- Only other thing is that the surface between the port and the bar has warped and oil is squirting past instead of being picked up by the chain...

cs2- oil coming out after idling 15 secs (yes, I put the screw back in)
cs3 - oil under cover after running with chain on for 15 secs
cs4 - oil on bar after running with chain for 15 secs

Thoughts?
Thanks!

I know most bars can be moved up and down when loose. I believe the rule is to lift the tip up before tightning. A gap between the outlet and the bar seems possible. The other thing would be pump pressure.

The only thing i can think of is if you run the saw with the bar on but with no chain, do you see oil running into the groove the chain rides in?

Did you mean there IS a warp by the oil port or that you Think it might be warped?
Clearly that would be a problem if it's not a tight fit to the port on the bar.

Have you tried turning up the pump?

I was noting that as a potential reason. I'm going to tear the whole thing down again, clean everything again, and see if it still happens.

Take the chain off. Then Look straight down where the bar meets the oil port. Look for a gap, and see if oil flows thru the bar port and into the chain groove.

you can open up the oil port on the bar also, sometimes they do not line up well with the saw port. personally i open up all my bar portsand extend the scallop leading the port as well.

Found a Youtube video that says you can upgrade the pump piston and control bolt in the pump using MS400 parts and that will bring me from 15cc/min to 24cc/min. That along with an new worm gear, pump seal, and pump hose.. see where that gets me.
