Chimney height question/thoughts

Hi all-
There's a lot of knowledge on this forum & i've gotten some great info, so I wanted to get some opinions on this. I'm replacing a VC Encore with a Woodstock Ideal Steel in the next couple of weeks. I didn't have any draft issues with my VC Encore that i noticed. Woodstock recommends a minimum of 15ft chimney length for the IS. My stove is in the corner of a room where the ceiling slants down, so it's close to the lowest point of the ceiling. Bottom line, If I install the IS at it's lowest height I'll have approximately 7.5ft of chimney total. I'm thinking i'll add a 3ft section to the outside so that'll give me 10.5ft. Does anyone think i'll have major draft issues, or should i just install the stove & see what the draft is like & then start adding chimney sections? Just want people's thoughts on the issue.

I don't think i can logistically extend 15ft. The roof is close to flat where the chimney exits, so I'd have a very tall stack on a flat roof. Do i just extend the exterior chimney and then bracket it to the roof? Since the roof is flat I'm not sure how I'd bracket it for stability

Your chimney will be supported by the support box inside & by a roof brace kit located every 5 feet (usually).
You may need more than one kit. The brackets attach to a clamp which goes around the chimney & the other
end has anchors that need to be screwed through the roof, into the rafters. Refer to the specifications & instructions
supplied with your Class A chimney sections, & you will be fine.

I'm slowly figuring out there's more to replacing an old stove with a new one takes than meets the eye. I thought the hearth pad was the only issue! I only have about 4ft of indoor stovepipe before it reaches the ceiling & exits ( my current stove has closer to 5ft, but the new flue collar is about 12in higher than my old stove's). There's currently only a 3ft Class A pipe outside (with storm collar & chimney cap), so I guess I'll have to add 7ft of class A to the outside, for a total of 10ft, then bracket that to the roof. That'll give me 4ft of indoor stovepipe, about 1ft in the ceiling exit, and then 10ft outside which'll give me 15. big chore this weekend...

I just thought of something else when considering adding exterior pipe- Will I be able to tell what brand of pipe i have? i.e., i haven't gotten on the roof to check yet, but there is an existing 3ft section. I'lll need to be sure that i'm using the same Class A brand. Can one tell by the connections? The chimney cap appears to be either a metalbestos or supervent cap, so I'm guessing the pipe is one of those two...

you can take a picture of the pipe and either post it here or compare it with other like pictures on the web or send it to a chimney pipe vendor.
You also may want to replace what you have and get better pipe if you find the case comes up that way.

So I was able to put a flashlight on the labels of the pipe & was able to make out Metalbestos (I think)

Also if you look at the label the model is "ut" which from what I gather is Selkirk Ultra-temp
