I have a thimble installed in my fireplace that enters in between the damper and the smoke chamber. My question is does the liner need to stop at the bottom of the existing clay liner at the top of the smoke chamber, or can I run the stainless steel liner on a 90 to the thimble. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
