Replacing a Quadrafire woodstove with a Pacific Energy zero clearance.
Have to put new triple wall in from the fireplace to the ceiling/attic, but I have existing triple wall in the attic now.
It's about 14 years old.
My plan was to have the new fireplace and new pipe hooked up to the existing pipe (with compatible/same pipe).
Is there a concern or expected life for the pipe in the attic? I had one installer look at the pipe in the attic and he said the pipe looked good and his plan was to connect to the pipe. Another installer's personal recommendation was to replace ALL the pipe.
Looking for opinions on using the existing pipe or any concerns to hooking to the existing pipe.
Thanks!
