You are correct, it appears that it is installed upside down....not sure I would call him a "chimney guy"
Had a chimney guy install this but seems backwards and not quite right. Or am wrong?
Like I said there is nothing wrong with it other than the missing adapter and poor fit. Do you need 6" or 8"my local stove place gave him my number and it does mostly chimney installs and such.
how it is upside-down? to me it looks backwards as the pipe sections are going against the flow and not with it. plus how do i replace this section since it's cemented into the wall?
since it's an 8" class A i am thinking i will get a 6" flex SS liner for it as that's probably the best way to fix this no?
Pipe is installed male side toward stove ( if the video is showing the stove side of pipe it is correct )my local stove place gave him my number and it does mostly chimney installs and such.

Why did you have an 8" chimney installed then? It is possible to run a liner through that chimney but it seems silly. Is it working ok?I'm running a 6" stove so I only need 6" pipe, right now i'm using a 6 to 8 adapter
A blower to get a naturally aspirated stove venting in the right direction ?i got the 8" from a friend for cheap and was in the process of installing a boiler with 8" outlet but have since abandoned that for other extremely aggravating reasons i'm not getting into.
so i rage bought a wood stove and have been running that since mid january like this, over the summer i wanted to sleeve this one down to 6" since that's all i need. i am also having issues with the draft flowing backwards so ive had to put a blower in the stove to get it going the right way a few times.
this is the piece that goes thru my foundation wall to a T on the side of my house then up 27ft to above my roof where i have a cap.
i am noticing the pieces go the opposite way of the flow which seems to channel smoke and heat into the insulation area of the pipe
yes i needed to get the draft to flow the right way a few times, it was around 60* inside my basement and 25-35 outside if that matters
If you are looking into the pipe from the stove end it is installed correctly. Female faces stove, male faces cap. The inner pipe of the female end fits into the inner pipe of the male end. Pipe is plumbed with condensation and creosote drips in mind, so that they do not escape the pipe. Smoke will not escape when flue is drafting as negative pressure will draw air into the pipe, not blow smoke out of it.
if it fits inside she’s lying about being female male side faces stove as shown in his videoIf you are looking into the pipe from the stove end it is installed correctly.
