...and the (8" SS flu) ash was mainly a glassy black material in verious sized chips. Is this typical? I always thought it would be a black powdery mess that I would spend ages clearing up, but this stuff is completely clean. I hardly got my hands dirty!

Does this tell me anything about my burning temps or technique that I need to be concerned about? Sorry for the newbie question but its the first time I cleaned it out (after about 6 weeks of whole house heating.)
