What are the best steps for a diyer so that I can get to a point to parge my smoke chamber with refractory mortar?

Will a wire brush get me there or some type of wash/treatment required?

You will want to use a product designed to parge smoke chamber like chambertech. Refractory mortar would work but would be much more difficult to use.

Thanks! Very helpful to know. Any way to properly clean the chamber before applying the Chambertech?
