We are melting in southern BC, please send some cold our way! Small fires and the house is above 22 c all day with no effort. Cant remember the last time it was this warm for this long. Its amazing how big our continent is!!

Just as I posted the above my brother in Vancouver sent me a text saying ha ha you are almost 50 f, hes a bit off, we are currently 41 f and in a torrential down pour, at least Im saving on wood!

I'm fed up with the cold we don't use heat at work freeze our buns off I do love heat

Lately we have been getting our exports from Hawaii. It's been about 55F day and night for the past several days with lots of rain. Thank goodness some of the wet stuff is finally dumping in Northern Calif.. They need it.

Thanks a lot, Brad. Something to look forward to.

Begreen, glad to hear there is some moisture in CA. The other day, spoke with my sister who has been there since late Dec. They had not had a drop of rain in Carmel since her arrival. Doesn't bode well for the fire season. Neither do the temps or precip in Wyoming.

We had nothing but precip and overcast last Spring, Summer, Fall. Sunny days were rare, until we experienced a short but nice Indian Summer. Then lots of cloud again late Autumn and early winter, but no precip to mention. One plow by late January. Now four plows in a week, and more to come in the next day or two. Perhaps the bitter cold we had without snow cover will have killed of some of the less desirable bugs. Hopefully, the snow has arrived in time to keep us from losing plants to the cold.

Hope we don't get too much snow without melt in between, from now until Spring break up. If we do, we'll be headed for another badly flooding Spring. Last year was pretty awful for many.

Cold back east and warm in the west for Feb. It may be time to put the stove to bed for the season if this keeps up. 90+% probability we are going to stay warmer than normal.

Sitting on front porch in the sun at 65* just outside of Chattanooga. Sipping Tennessee Apple Pie Moonshine. Dogs sleeping at my side. Life is good. Heat pump on duty when needed.

hey bg you know what will happen if you do -20 ;lol

Yeah, We'd be fixing pipes until the cows come home. Coldest I've experienced in 40 yrs of living in WA has been a stretch that bottomed out at 8F. That was back in the late 70's. It froze the pipe coming into the house and started flooding the basement.

This the first day in three weeks it's been cold enough to burn the stove. In the Northern CA foothills below Tahoe it's been 70 degrees in Jan. Crazy. Not cold enough for snow but at least we're getting rain.

Beautiful. It must be awesome in fall.

Yes, my newly adopted home is very pretty. Mostly all hardwood and very colorful in fall. Unfortunately I don't really have any fall pictures yet. But here are a few from summer and winter on the mountain.
