Does anyone have working knowledge about this stove looking at buying one for 500 dollars is it worth it? is the pre vc? Any input would be appreciated..

It is an older model - if the glass is a rectangle, then it is 1984-1985 , if glass has arch, it is 85-90

Personally, I would not want to pay that much for it. At the time, it probably sold for $569 (1985) to $869 (1990).

Perhaps if it was 100% perfect and newer unit (made in USA, not taiwan), and had a new catalytic converter in it, it might be worth that....but in "as is" condition, I would not consider it.

Note: any pre-vc models will have "taiwan" cast into the back, and newer models have Made in USA in casting or on label (or both)
 
This is a model 2184 circa 1990 -1993 per the reference sheet prior post. When did VC buy CD?
