I plan to tear out my FMI 36" prefab corner fireplace this summer and hook up a Buck Stove model 74 freestanding stove. My measurements line up and I know I can do it; my only question is about the chimney. I know this has been discussed in previous posts, but I was hoping for a more specified answer. I'm hoping to save the existing chimney and line it if possible. I've read it's possible, but is it generally worth the effort? Here are a few pics, started with a look up my current chimney: it's double wall, 10 inch inside diameter galvanized steel...I would need to reduce it to 6 somewhere before I get to the stove:

The Buck Stove I'm installing...6 inch pipe.

Current fireplace...I'll be tearing out the entire corner back to the studs, hanging plywood and stone veneer on top of that. I'll have plenty of clearance every direction with the 6' x 6' pad I'm building.

I don't know exactly what the prefab looks like behind it, but it's original to the home and there is an online manual and parts are still available:

I seem to be able to get any parts I might need, and I will be tearing out the entire corner and doing everything custom, so I'll have more flexability in using a recessed ceiling box if necessary or any other adjustments. And again, I would be putting a liner up the existing chimney.
If I don't do this and opt for all new chimney, pipe and ceiling box, can I at least use the same roof flashing? I suppose that would depend on the chimney I buy, but that should be able to work, right? The current one appears to be in fine shape, although I don't know the flashing's exact diamter.
Many thanks in advance.
