I picked this thing up today at auction to fool around with. Any thoughts on it?

Picked up some info on it here...http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.n...494925e73c99d59f88256d3c00168668?OpenDocument

Looks like a neat old machine. Does it run? Thoughts? It'll take a real man to handle that thing for long. Should be a real mosquito fogger.

Sweet saw! Perfect for the mantle, not for use in any circumstance.

Those saws didn't offer safety features like today's models have. If memory serves the vintage gear drive saws used brute force to cut, rather than high speed like they do now.

It tuns over and has good compression. Gonna check out the fuel system first.

Spletz.... fo safety reasons?
Yup. I'm a safety freak. I can't believe that chain/gas/chain oil can be equivilent versus back then. Just my opinion.

Get it running and make some cuts with it! Reminds me of my Mac-15. Loud, leaves your hands tingling, and doesn't saw through wood, it just grabs a chunk with each tooth and spits it out. Chain moves so slow you can almost see each chip come out!
