Have an old 2001 Snowflake/Amaziblaze fireplace insert that needs replaced. When cleaning it this morning noticed the burn chamber is rusted thru. Have notice more smoke smell so now I know why. Looking for a good replacement. Haven't had much problems other than normal cleaning and one auger motor and one blower mower. However never seemed to get the heat out of it that I thought it would produce. Want to be able to burn corn since all I have to do is go out the back door and get some out of the bin. Have looked online at Enviro M55, Magnum 3500 Countyside, and Harman Accentra 52i. Like the idea of not having to mess with the clunker but not sure if having the stirrer is more of a maintenance issue. Just not sure which company is the best to go with.

Sorry no one got back to you sooner... try a search of the forum (at the top of the page) as some members use a corn/pellet mix; not sure how many use straight corn. Can search both was using "corn" or by the stove name. Enjoy reading!

Welcome to the forum:)

Some reason I never seen your post. The Countryside is very old school and really could have used a update or ten a decade or so ago. The PC45 is not a insert unfortunately and was dropped from Harmans line this year:( Have no personal experience with the Enviro. Probably the best only corn stoves IMO went south because company did some fraud, Bixby. Some around yet. Kinda ugly but kick butt burning corn without daily or weekly fussing. Hopefully others can chime in on suggested corn stoves or blended too.
St.Croix has a couple models but the better of them I think is the Auburn. Quadrafire Mt.Vernon is another stove that after a rocky beginning seems to be performing well for several members.

I have a (USSC) US Stove 6041 insert that will burn 100% corn. These stoves are priced well and the customer service great. They even have a tech that frequents this site and does a good job helping. From my experience I would recommend this stove.

The times that I have burnt straight corn I still had a clinker. I found that mixing in some pellets with the corn gets rid of the clinker though. The oyster shell thing would probably work too but I have never used that method myself.

Have a local dealer getting me a Mt Vernon AE2. Kept getting conflicting stories on burning pure corn in the Enviro M55 and Harman 52i but everyone kept pointing to the Mt. Vernon. Hope it works like everyone said it should.

It's a nice looking stove. I had chased one down last summer but as I was going to pickup after the 4th, the guys wife said that they could not afford to get a new stove as grain markets tanked:(
