First things first, this story is only crazy because i live in south central PA, not Jamaica :p(broken image removed)
Tonight i was bringing up dry firewood closer to my house when i noticed something on a peice of wood, it was a freaking gecko! Wtf, my drying pile is over 500' from my house which is the closest dwelling to were he was. I know my neighbors didn't have one because they are 80 Years old lol. Anyway, we have been talking about getting a pet so here he/she is. I'm gonna get on the ball tomorrow to check it out and see if we can keep it!(broken image removed)
What's the craziest thing you have found in your wood pile? Please tell me I'm not the only one to hit this jackpot;)

Did he offer you a great deal on car insurance?
"Everybody knows that." It would be nice if that wood was also 15%, but it doesn't look like it...

Yea just don't go homeowners with the gecko. By the way did you name him Gordon?

I don't have a picture of it unfortunately.
I was loading wood into the wood rack and I found a bullet from either a 38 or a 9mm
It was embedded in the end of a piece of wood sticking about half way in.

I'm not sure that's a Gecko... I think it's a spotted Salamander. Used to have one in my well pit. Heard they were are on the rare side to find one. I would check on it, but nice pet either way.

Eastern PA here, and we get Salamanders, too. I find their dried carcasses in the garage, under cabinets and such. Would be surprised if it's really a Gecko.

Thats a leopard gecko. Common pet for kids. Needs heat lamp and a sandy bottomed cage. Place to hide and small water dish and your all about set. Then feed it crickets. Crazy find since they need heat and are non native to anywhere close to you lol

Yea, it's definitely a leopard gecko, i went to the pet store and got a cage, crickets, and a lamp. He got a few crickets in him and he's happy as can be. I haven't seen any signs posted for missing gecko around..... lol. I wish i knew how far he traveled and how long he's been there because the wood he was in was split and stacked around june, and there is a crap load of crickets down their and mice nests.

Well, on the topic, I found a nest of four young bunnies the hard way yesterday. In a hole in the grass right next to my woodpiles. Ran over the nest with a 3000 lb tractor pulling a plug aerator. Two dead, two survived.
