I have a cylindrical iron-drum style wood stove with a slide-up cover that is terribly inefficient. It's attractive but with a leaky slide grate that never controls air intake very well I fear it is at best 5% efficient. And of course it lacks a blower.
I have searched the internet high and low for appropriate blowers but nothing seems designed for cylindrical stoves. Replacement is not an option right now due to cost.
I have found a number of tubular systems that look promising but do not match the dimensions of my stove.
Examples: (broken link removed to http://www.woodlanddirect.com/Wood-Burning-Fireplace-Heaters?state=7292)
The opening is only 15" wide and 11" tall so a custom solution seems a must. I'm a pretty capable DIY type but lack a welding setup. Happy to take ideas to a welder if they seem plausible.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions and expertise.
