Looks like a huge pile in the second picture. Is it all slab wood ? what type ?

My OCD would make me stay up till 5am to sort that mess out. LOL

I can't believe how hollow some of those rounds are in the first pick up against the building on the left. Nothing left!

Those hollow rou ds.will make for good camping peices for the kids to look at.
I had about 5 trees like that on the river bank.
Bummer when ya think you are getting g some decent logs out and they end up hollow.

Up here the carpenter ants eat out the middle of soft maples, cherry and apple trees. I see a fair amount of "Holy" wood! Dries quickly though!

One problem with "hollows" is they can be pretty sketchy to cut if you don't know they're hollow.

Yes you are correct.
I notched the tree, made a bail out path, and when I started cutting my 2171 went right through it, fast enough that I pulled the saw out and dropped it and got out of there.

Quite a suprise to cut through a 24 inch tree in 3 seconds
