I have a Dearborn gas heating stove that works fine....except , I can't turn it down to off. It's like the knob can't be turned any farther down. It can easily be turned up, just not down enough to make it shut off. It kicks on by itself, and shuts off by itself, but it is too warm. The knob is no longer on the stove so it has to be turned up & down with pair of pliers. It's a great stove and has been in my family more than 50 years. Only problem is I can't turn it down when it kicks on.
