Did someone use fireblock foam for block plate or similar application. Link provided

they say it does not burn. Thats why its called "Fire block." But who knows.
What do you reccomend to use to seal block off plate?
 
"Fire block" foam (made by multiple companies) is rated to limit flame spread, not to actually be in a hot place. It's usually polyurethane and melts around 250°F. The 3M product linked is rated to 240°F.

Do not use any "fire block" spray or caulking for any high temperature application.

I know the edges of a blockoff plate may not get that hot, but better safe than sorry. Use a high temperature sealant. Furnace cement is good to a couple thousand degrees. RTV silicone is available in ratings over 600°F.

Just use a good quality silicone like GE Silicone II to seal the blockoff plate perimeter. Use some rope gasket if there is a gap around the liner.

I have never seen one that didnt burn. It doenst stop fire it just helps limit its spread by block ing air movement.
