Ok got a day where I can stop burning going to be in the 60 today damn lol. But I'm going to do some cleaning and checking over parts my cap has a 3 inch band across the middle of it I was wondering if I take tin snips and cut thoses out will my draft be better?

If you have a good draft any chimney cap should not be a problem what so ever, if you have a poor draft IMHO cutting out some metal on your cap wont help you much.
Cant you do a test burn with out the cap?

Yea I can take it off and try it. I got ok deft at best was just wondering if that would help it out some. I seen on here where a few guys burn with out a cap on
