Feeling the Heat

Has anyone had experience with this stove. The pros and cons? Does this stove have reliability issues? More so than some of the other brands?

Who exactly manufactures this unit? Is this a rebranded stove from a more popular manufacturer?

Thanks

Ive got one. So far so good. I believe SBI manufactures the stove. My stove did come with a bad connector on the convection blower. Caused the stove to overheat and shut down the first couple times i used it. Once I figured out the issue I repaired the bastard fitting and have been good to go since. Its a big stove and cranks out some heat. It has 6 heat settings. I very rarely go over 3. I just ducted it to my main level from the basement and it seams to be working great. Home is toasty!

Thanks for the info. Where did you purchase it from? I read some people having the auger jam when the hopper is loaded full. You have any issues?

What size is the ducted portion? 4 inch? One last question. Is the unit reasonably quiet?

I bought mine from Northern Tools. Never had an issue with auger jamming (knock on wood) The stove has a 500 cfm blower so when at full steam its not quiet. But I dont run it wide open. At 3 and 2 setting I would consider it reasonably quiet. Which is what i typically run it on. My dad has a harman and that stove is much quieter than mine but it does not move nearly the amount of air. So its a trade off. The ducted portion with the plenum kit is two 5 inch ducts. Or if your referring to the vent pipe that is 4 inch.

It's a product of SBI. A sister stove (same basically) of the Enerzone Euromax.

It's a bottom feed. Very similar to the Harmans. Has a ductable system (two 4" ducts). LARGE convection blower!

Pretty solid unit from what I have read. It would be on my short list of next stove. Along with the P-43, M-55, and Enviro Maxx-M. Those 4 are a tough bunch to beat

Ducts are 5 inch. And yes a LARGE blower. That bad boy can move some air! I am pleased with mine.

We (SBI) make it. I'm not aware of any issues with auger jamming however. It's been 3 years on the market and our claim levels on this unit is the lowest of any of our models.

Well done! I'm happy with mine and would recommend it. I have burned about 1 ton so far just to give you an idea of how much I've used it.

Eric, one of our tech support guy is using it to heat his house. I should ask him for pics because he's the worst candidate for pellets. Never cleans his stove. He showed me pics where the ashes are way above the burn pot before he cleans it...

This would be the stove im interested in, when and if i buy another unit. The ducted Option is what sells me on this unit.

My current setup works great and heats the house well. But researching alot of units, im always drawn right back to this one for the price and features.

"FyreBug" Does this model sell enough units to justify keeping in production for the foreseeable future?

This is one of our best seller. It's also a fairly new model so we will continue to make it for a long while yet...

I have this unit as well , No issues thing far exceeded my expectations as far as heating as well as my woodstove, Hey firebug , think you guys can retro fit your ash pan with a couple wings to get a near inteference fit so ash doesn't fall down beside it? only complaints are small things like that , otherwise I am extremely happy with it

Your right! Thats a small thing but i hav thought the same. The ash slips around all 4 sides of it.

Sent it to our design team as an 'opportunity'. That's what we call request for changes...

Thanks for the suggestion.
