I would like to purchase an in-line duct thermostat that could turn on a in-line duct fan. The duct fan will pull warm air from the home through a forty foot long pipe chase located in our unheated attic. The thermostat would be set to activate the duct fan if the temperature in the pipe chase ever approaches freezing.
I was picturing something similar in function to an aquastat. It would mount on the outside of the pipe chase with a temperature probe that would would extend into the chase. Can anyone suggest a make, model and source for something that might do that? I am confused by the array of choices for duct thermostats which might serve the purpose. I am hoping to spend less than $100.
Thanks for any suggestions.
