My first season with a pellet stove. Curious how prices here compare to elsewhere in the USA/region. I'm seeing a range from Green Supreme at $6.79/bag or $329/ton to Vermont Wood Pellets or La Crete for $8-10/bag $400-$410/ton.

Here is what I have available locally. Prices are per bag/per ton

Tractor supply
Green Supreme @ $6.79/$329

Menards:
Lignetics @ $10/$500

Aubuchon Hardware Hardwick & Morrisville: Green Supreme $8/$350

Eden Hometown Hardware:
Curran Blend or Hardwood for $7/$335

Guys Farm and Yard:
Logik Blend $7.05/ $352.5
Logik Hardwood $7/$350
Energex Blend $7.35/367.5
Comfort Plus Hardwood $7.20/$360
La Crete Soft $8/$400

Bournes Energy:
Wood & Sons $10/$390
Vermont Pellet Company $10/$410
Curran $330

Where I am in western Mass Wood and Sons are $395. These are well worth the extra money compared to big box store brands, Lignetics, Green Supreme, etc. at least from my experience. If you don't want a lot of ash Wood and Sons are the way to go. Heat is v.g.

Oh interesting! Sounds like prices here are similar. I've heard good things about the Vermont Wood pellet brand as well as Wood and sons. So far I'm emptying my pelpro 130 daily but not much ash as it's not very cold yet. Is the main difference that you don't need to empty the pot as much? I'm hoping to burn a bag of Vermont when it gets cooler again next week to compare.
