I know these guys are out of business but I see some new all stainless 200 model boilers listed for sale on craigslist and often wonder how much of a discount should the boiler be marked down because the manufacture closed shop? Would any of you guys ever consider buying an Empyre Elite model 200 version 3 knowing there is no manufacture/dealer support? IDK what the original sale price is for that boiler but is $8200 too much?

If so - that's way too much for my comfort.
(I don't know price of new ones either).
If I was really handy at fixing what I thought might go wrong myself - I might consider 50 cents on the dollar. But even that would be risky. It isn't just that they're out of business - but I think also some of their designing was suspect which led to early failures. I don't know how much that applies to stainless 200's though.

I would go for a Froling and have their great support. Not a big price difference.

3K more for the boiler then add storage tank costs.

I've had two Empyre Pro Fab 400's. 1st one burned out quick. 2nd one was warrenty $4800 replacement. I wouldn't buy any Empyre products. Very poor metal and like the other guy said poor design.
They also left us owners stranded. $11,000 stove no warranty, parts, or service. "F" them.

My current warranty stove is on its second winter. I found a place that test water. Just sent 1st sample in. We'll see how that goes. . I have a friend who owns a welding business. So any big leaks like 1st stove we can patch for a while. So far only one the blower box has corroded. I fixed that.
I've accepted that this stove won't make it long and have been researching replacements. Staying with gasser. Central or Heatmaster g-200. Seem good so far.
