Deep into our normal coldest period of the year, 4 more weeks of intense cold to go before spring starts to turn temps around and its 45 deg today, with 40+ temps for the next week.
I have just reached the 1 cord mark for this season. Projecting to use 2 cord for the season.
Sure beats the hell out of last year. :)

60F here, nothing but cold ashes in the stove at the moment.

I haven't touched the wood shed yet and want to keep it that way. But I've went through almost 3/4 of my "spring" wood. May have to cut a few dead popular out back.

We have gone through about 2 1/2 cord. Wife can not stand it less than 74, she has been that way since she has been on chemo the last 3 years.

Here in Connecticut , I got a late start due to some home construction. 1st burn 12/20 . I think I have only burned 3 face cords. This is a big bonus as I was a little behind on my three year plan. Then there is $ 1.45 heating oil but that is another story. Thank you el nino !!

Gees louise, you guys burn nothin'. Northern people are well over the 3+ cord ( real cords, not the face, rick or other faux cords ).
Why oh why are all the best firewoods down south like CT, or Carolinas ? Help .

I've burned about 4 cords since October if you count the two cords of pine shoulder wood. But I've burned zero oil for heat

We're at about 2 cord right now. We burn 5+/- in a normal year, so, we're definitely on the low side.

Keep your lady warm, nothing else compares.
I went through radiation and chemo a year ago ( withdrawal from harvesting firewood, splitting, stacking, and even loading the stove ). She did all.
We can empathasise with.you for her, and best of recovery.
P.S. Do your P.S.A. guys...NOW.;ex

I've burned under 2 cord so far. Been a mild one.

After last winter I'll take it burned very little this year maybe a cord and a half. Nice having wood stacks still very full. I'll take a mild winter who knows when a cold nasty one will show up.

2.5 cords so far, my wife likes it warm. 57 degrees right now. Not much need for a fire tonight.

Like oak, sugar maple and black locust? Wait a minute . . . those grow here in Maine . . . pretty sure they grow in Vermont too unless you are way up at the top of the state or in a mountainous area.

I've burned wood since September or so. I'm not really sure how much I have burned. Honestly, I don't really care. I still have plenty of wood left in the shed and that's all that matters.

I went into this winter with 5.5 cords of oak and maple, burnt about 1.5 cords so far, I'm already working on wood for 2018-2019 season, but it might actually be used in the 2019-2020 season by mother natures automatic warm weather default, and believe me I'm not complaining, especially after the last 2 winters.

Gone thruogh about 2.5-3 cords now. Last year used about 7 total. Projecting less than 5 by the time we are done which just puts me more ahead!!!!

I've gone through just over 1 cord so far. Today it's just like April outside. We've got windows open, bright sun and no snow. Numerous people killed on the weekend in mid Ontario talking snowmobiles onto lakes that are not frozen enough. This is Canada?

It was 55 here yesterday in the snow belt. I split a few face cord of some blocked wood that was entombed in the snow...gave the son a ride on the ATV and hand washed the car.

I haven't had the oil boiler on yet this year. I'm not sure how much wood it is, but I have used almost 3 entire skids (4x4x5tall) of wood. So likely over a full cord. I planned on burning 10 skids worth, so if next year is cold...i'm going to have some darn nice wood and plenty of it.

When it is above 40F we just burn some sticks to take the chill off and let it die out. Hot and short...just the way I like my women. :)

This is my first year off oil, so I consider myself very fortunate to be getting a year ahead.

I have burned about 4 cords so far this season, usually I am through six and well into cord number seven on Feb 1.

Little over a cord here on the Jersey shore.

The fall had such a long shoulder time frame that I used up all my maple that I thought I'd use for the spring shoulder season.

This is where I'm at but started in October. If I had to guess, maybe 1.5-2 at the most. And zero oil

Yep...55 here as well yesterday. Went out back and dropped a widow maker Elm that had died and fallen into a vine and other trees. Cut it up and left to to continue to season. Bark is all off it. Some rot but not too bad. Got about a face cord out of it.

Lots of hardwood up in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick. I have seen tons of it in Vermont.

I don't think I've burned a cord yet. My wood shed holds just under 5 cord, but I couldn't fit all of the wood I had in it, so I was burning other wood in the yard first. However, I did burn one entire row of wood in the shed which was blocking the Sandy Oak. I burned a little here and there, but I have yet to load the stove up 100% with Sandy Oak. We didn't really start burning full time until January and last night I let the fire burn out... Hopefully the temps drop again and I can fire up the stove.
