I would of never thought to check this but after getting the new stove installed at my moms house and having the building inspector sign off on it next step was call the ins co. They asked if the stove was UL listed, i could not find it anywhere in the owners manual nor on the unit it self.

This results in the surcharge being slightly higher than if the unit was listed, don't know the exact amount yet.

However while browsing the home depot website it states that the product IS UL listed.
So whats the deal here? Listed or not listed?

Pics of install coming soon and a small writeup about awesome Home Depot experience..

Warnock Hersey/Intertek did the UL testing and certification for the 25-PDVC. Their seal is on the first page of the manual.

"A representative sample of the listed devices have been tested, investigated and found to comply with the requirements of the Standard(s) for Solid Fuel Type Room Heaters (UL-1482) and are identified with the Warnock Hersey Listed Mark."

Thanks BB. I did look on the manual and did not find the ul symbol, i will double check again. The stove was made in sept of 09, but purchased brand new 2 weeks ago from home depot. Perhaps since it's an older stove it was right before they got listed?

I will be giving englander a call tomorrow.

That PDVC has always been listed. It is not listed by the UL, it is listed by Warnock Hersey/Intertek to UL safety standards (which is the same thing). Remember that the UL writes and maintains the standards but is also a test lab. Things don't have to be tested by the UL to be listed to their standards.
