This will be a long post, but I'm in need of help/guidance...
I've had a Smart stove for four years now. I bought it specifically because it had a thermostat and would turn itself completely off, then re-light a fire when the house got cool. I recently had to replace the control board, and they've since redesigned it. Now the stove starts, has a large fire to warm the house, then goes down to a very small flame constantly. Once the temp drops, it add more pellets, ramping the fire up, but then goes back down to a small flame.
The problem I'm having; even with the stove's thermostat set on 60, my house is getting 75-78 degrees due to the small flame running all the time. Tech support says they changed the stoves operation to save on ignitors, and that I should just turn the stove off if it gets too warm in the house, which is pretty hard to do when I work twelve hour days and a not home. They also suggested I run the stove on manual mode. I've tried that, however, the house still gets over 75 degrees.
Their customer service says the stove is functioning just like its designed to, however, it doesn't work like it did when I bought it, and I think its crappy to change how its designed after I bought it.
Maybe my house is too insulated, but its at the point now that I can't use the stove since it gets too hot.
Any ideas?
